AP 3-D Art and Design is a three-dimensional (3-D) art course that holds many similarities to the 2-D course. The course deals with 3-D artistic applications such as metalworking, sculpture, computer models, and ceramics. Like AP Studio Art 2D, the focus is on the design of the artwork itself as opposed to its composition. This is the deadline for AP Art and Design students to submit their portfolio components to the AP Program through the AP Digital Portfolio.
AP Art and Design Exam Guide
The second exam section is the Concentration section, divided into Part C. This section challenges students to develop a cohesive work centered around a specific theme or concept. Students are required to submit 12 digital images that exemplify their exploration and development of this theme. Alongside the images, a written statement is required to explain the conceptual framework and artistic intentions behind the concentration.

You will work with your teacher or AP coordinator to upload the digital images of your work and commentary online. Throughout the exam, you will be expected to demonstrate strong technical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate your ideas visually.
